Pernod Ricard India confirms below-strength whisky investigation

Pernod Ricard India has confirmed that investigations are underway into allegations that some Imperial Blue whisky has been found to be under its specified 75 proof.

Pernod Ricard India has confirmed that investigations are underway into allegations that some Imperial Blue whisky has been found to be under its specified 75 proof.  

The Andhra Pradesh state excise department and Pernod Ricard have launched investigations at two bottling plants in Andhra Pradesh, India.  

Pernod Ricard told Drinks International that the inquiry follows reports that some Imperial Blue whisky produced by one of the plants for a limited geographical area may be below 75* proof. 

The plants are leased to Pernod Ricard India, and are continuing to produce product under Excise supervision.
