Chivas appoints gin brands director

09 October, 2009

Chivas Brothers, the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard, has appointed Simon Burley to the position of brand director for Beefeater and Plymouth Gin.

Burley is to take up the role from 12 October. He will be reporting to Eric Benoist, Chivas Brothers Marketing Director and will be based at the company’s Hammersmith offices.

Burley, has previously worked on the Chivas Regal and Ballantine’s brands at Chivas Brothers.

Burley originally comes from Australia where he worked for Pernod Ricard Australia on the marketing of the company’s Scotch whisky brands. Moving to Chivas Brothers in 2006, he continued his career working on Ballantine’s.

He played an integral role in developing the Ballantine’s Championship which, at €12m annually, is the largest ever sponsorship investment made by the Pernod Ricard Group. He then moved onto the company’s flagship scotch whisky brand Chivas Regal as international marketing manager, where he oversaw the implementation of the brand’s Live with Chivalry campaign in over 50 markets around the world.

In his new role Burley assumes responsibility for the global marketing strategy, plus the international rollout of education programmes for Beefeater and Plymouth Gins.
